CARCASONNE NOCTURNE: Found it!
Acrylics on Watercolor Paper
15" x 20"
Progress as of May 19, 2014 a.m.
Last night, I kept looking at my progress and wondering what was wrong - I knew something was off-kilter but couldn't quite put my finger (or brush!) on it. As I started to fill in the lower walls this morning, it pounced out at me!
An entire section of wall and an archway missing..........added them immediately and I feel much better now. Still blocking in the rest of the fortress, but getting closer to where I start to feel good about what I see from a "viewing distance."

CARCASONNE NOCTURNE: Ugly Blocking Stage May 18, 2014 p.m.
Acrylics on Watercolor Paper

I dedicate this one to the person who asked me how many different lighthouses there are to paint. I will, of course, return to lighthouses - or maybe not- but in the meantime, I give you a view of another stone edifice at night - with a bit of water too. I am thoroughly enjoying all the blues, purples and greys as I mix them in their varying values and shades.
